Introduction

In deciding my project, I knew I wanted to do something that I care about and would enjoy investing my time in outside of school. 

People always ask you, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” I always responded, “An artist!” I’ve always loved art and knew I would enjoy my project if I incorporated it in some way. After pondering which way to incorperate it, I eventually decided to explore art mediums. This project interested me because I would be doing something I love, but also learning new techniques and skills. 

Guiding Question

"Exploring Art Mediums" is a very broad topic and I wondered about the best way to learn the diffferences in technique and effect of the mediums. This led me to my guiding question: 

How do different mediums affect the same image?  

Elevator Pitch

For my project, I will be making three artworks all of the same subject, each one made using a different medium. The three mediums I will be using are acrylic paint, charcoal, and oil pastels. I will observe how the art mediums affect the subject and include these notes in the final project.
