Bright Child or Gifted Learner

There are many definitions for giftedness; however, they all have one element in common. A gifted person is "someone who shows, or has the potential for showing, and exceptional level of performance in one or more areas of expression." In general, five percent of the student population is considered gifted.

Although no two gifted children are exactly alike, there are some characteristics that gifted children share (and they are not always the characteristics we wish for in students).
