Department: Mycology
Supervisor: Bryn Dentinger, Curator of Mycology
Mycology Collection Assistants help with tasks including inventory, curation, photography, data entry and storage and preparation of mycological specimens in the collection area. Volunteers may also work in the field with Mycology Collection staff, hiking and collecting mycological specimens to be returned to NHMU for our collection and for future research.
Training Required:
Malacology Collection Assistant volunteers will receive a tour of the Malacology Department and on-the-job training.
Field volunteers will receive additional training for field work.
Shift times:
We will determine a set schedule based on the availability of the volunteer and the supervisor, but we request that in the beginning the work take place within the normal work week.
Time Commitment: A minimum of 3 hours per week is requested for a duration of 6 months, but more is always appreciated!
Age Requirement: 18 years or older
