Department: Marketing
Supervisor: Mark Johnston, Digital Marketing Manager
Marketing Photography volunteers are a hugely important factor in creating excitement about the many events that take place at the Rio Tinto Center. Using their photography skills, they document the excitement, joy, and learning that takes place at events at NHMU, and help to showcase the incredible possibilities to future attendees. The archive of photos created by these volunteers will be used in future marketing efforts at NHMU.
Marketing Photography volunteers attend regular events at NHMU (including programs like Scientist in the Spotlight, DinoFest, Bluegrass and BBQ, Lecture Series, etc.) to photograph Museum staff, volunteers, and guests in action. Volunteers may also assist in Museum marketing campaign photo shoots, which can provide on-the-job training in camera operation and studio lighting, if desired. Following events, volunteers provide the Marketing Department with 10-20 full-size, toned jpgs from the event.
Any content created by a volunteer will be property of the Museum and will be used for both internal and external promotion. When possible, volunteers will be given photo credit for their work while contributing to the Museum in any capacity.
