Tour Guides are a hugely important factor in providing Museum visitors with exceptional and memorable customer experience. Highly trained in tour content in each of our galleries, they bring the Museum to life, helping to create for guests lasting impressions of both natural history and scientific research.
Tour Guides use Museum stories, props, and conversation to engage guests. Tour Guides have a strong interest in serving visitors and demonstrate an ability and willingness to communicate with different audiences.
Training Required:
Tour program orientation (can be in a group if there are enough recruits, or one-on-one)
Self-Guided Training, which will consist largely of shadowing veteran tour guides (must be available to do so on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday)
Time Commitment: Tour guides are asked to lead an average of 2 or more tours per month.
Age Requirement: 18 years or older
