We are so excited to partner with you and your family this year! Through our Family Engagement department, we plan to provide opportunities to create family to family support, make community and district resources accessible to you, equip you with tools to help with your child(ren)'s education, and help increase your decision making with your child's education. Here's a little bit about us:
Nilsa Hill
Hi everyone! I was born and raised in Puerto Rico. I moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1996 and then to the DFW area in June of 2020. My husband and I live in Flower Mound. Between the two of us, we have five young adults and a 2-year old grandson.
In our free time, we like to travel, we enjoy going for walks, reading in the mornings before we start the day and I like to cook. This is my second year with GCISD but I worked in a similar position for fifteen years for Tulsa Public Schools. As a family engagement specialist, what I love the most is meeting families, getting to know them personally, and offering any resources they might need.

Hello, and welcome to the 2022-23 school year! I am so excited that our district values Family Engagement and the partnership between home and schools! I am a fellow parent, too--my kids are ages 9, 7, and 4, so I am right in there with you! My husband is also an educator, and we love being involved with our kids' sports and activities, spending time outside, and taking small trips when we can fit them in. I have been in education for seventeen years in various roles: Teacher, Counselor, Student Advocate, and now Family Engagement Specialist. I am looking forward to partnering with you and your family this year to ensure that our kids receive the BEST education!
