Common Core State Standards

At EPIC our English Language Arts and Math curriculum follow the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). The Common Core State Standards were adopted by California in 2010. The intent of the CCSS is to create uniformity across all United States School systems. This means that a student in California will participate in the same standards based lessons as a student in any other state. At EPIC our Kindergarten-5th grade teachers utilize the Wonders Curriculum for our English Language Arts Curriculum and Pearson's enVision Mathematics Curriculum. Our middle school program (grades 6th-8th) utilizes a CCSS novel based approach to instruction in their English studies, and Pearson's Digits program for mathematics.
