COMMUNITY Resources

Operation Community Cares:

OCC had previously assisted with home delivery of food and other necessities. As of mid-June, however, OCC has transitioned to assisting individuals and families with navigating other community resources, such as Paul's Pantry, the Aging and Disability Resource Center, and Love Life.

Salvation Army Green Bay- 626 Union Ct.

  • Noon Lunch Program - Served from 11:30am to 12:30pm outside of the Corps Community Center on the Union Court/West side of the building. Free to the public. Anyone in need can walk up or drive-thru and receive a meal to go.

  • Pantry Program - Distributing groceries outside of the Corps Community Center on the Union Court/West side of the building. Please drive through at your scheduled pantry pick-up time and a staff member or volunteer will assist you. To try and minimize contact, remain in your vehicle until after staff has delivered the cart of groceries to your car and stepped away. It is then safe to exit the vehicle and load your groceries.

**If you are not currently scheduled to receive pantry services but are in need of groceries and would like to sign up, please call our Social Services Office at 920-593-2379.**

Paul’s Pantry- Open for business as normal. If it becomes necessary to shut down the grocery store shopping model, they are prepared to provide pre-made grocery bundles in a drive-thru method. Not open on Sundays or Thursdays. Open for distribution from 10:30-1:30 with interviews starting at 9:30.

Energy Assistance:

Brown County Health & Human Services Economic Support administers the Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program (WHEAP). WHEAP provides assistance with heating costs and non-heating electric costs. A one-time payment is available between October 1 and May 15 of each year. Due to COVID-19, the regular season has been extended to September 30th, 2020.

Most fuel types are eligible to receive assistance. Whether you use wood, propane, natural gas, electricity, or fuel oil to heat your home, energy assistance is available if you qualify.

A household may qualify for crisis assistance if you have no heat, have received a disconnect notice from the heating vendor or are nearly out of bulk fuel and cannot afford to purchase more.

WHEAP furnace assistance can provide services to eligible applicants if the furnace or boiler stops operating. Contact our office immediately if you are experiencing a no heat situation.
