Mentors
The heart or cornerstone of the Gateway Induction Program is the weekly individualized guidance and collaboration with an Induction Mentor. Working closely together, Participating Teachers and Mentors engage in focused cycles of inquiry for equity that demonstrate the application of skills and competencies aligned with the California Standards for the Teaching Profession (CSTP) as well as tangible evidence of growth along the CSTP. Our coaching and mentoring model will draw upon other adult learning and coaching models, such as Learning-Focused Relationships (Lipton and Wellman), Coaching for Equity (Aguilar), and Coaching for Equity (National Equity Project).
