The Employee Empowerment Professional Development Program started with a simple idea of investing in our employees to make an impact. In 2019, with the help the President's Innovation Grant at GateWay Community College the program came to life and began it's first cohort in Spring of 2021. Currently in it's 10th cohort in Fall 2025, we have had the pleasure of graduating 59 employees and seen many of them grow into new positions, go back to or attend college and so much more!

The Employee Empowerment Professional Development Program has full support of the administration and people leaders across all campuses! this is so exciting for our employees and they can take time to work on their professional development and grow exponentially in personally, professionally and academically.
EEPDP was developed to support our employees in self-exploration (academic, professional and personal self)! Their professional development is as important to GateWay as it is to them. Programming includes speakers, discussions, projects and networking on topics including, but not limited to Self-Exploration/Discovery, Communication, Time/Change/Project Management, DiSC with optional Diversity/Equity/Inclusion, Career Exploration and Leadership Basics.
EEPDP runs every Spring and Fall. February through April in the Spring, and September through November in Fall.
Programming is 5 hours per month and will consist of one 4 hour guest speaker session in the morning and a 1 hour work session in the afternoon.
Depending on the need and semester, the programming will be online or in-person.
