  • Google Drawings is like the old Paint program. Use Google Drawings when you want to elicit a creative response for any subject OR when you would like to provide a graphic organizer for students to complete to reflect or guide their learning.

  • Google Slides is a presentation tool, but it can be "hacked" to mimic templates from social media and other websites. You might also use Google Slides in your course as an announcement to include your agenda for each module/folder as a checklist for students, directions, and links to other items needed. Slides can be an excellent hub to collect links to resources.

Start and Stop Embedded Videos

You can set a video embedded into Google Slides to start and stop at a certain time.  Show only segment from the middle or trim the end...it's all in your control.

Creating Slide Templates for Interactive Activities

Create Google Slide activities for your students using all the space in a slide deck.  These "gray areas" are an often over looked usable space to put instructions, content, even drag and drop components in your activities.

Inserting Audio Into Slides

Adding audio into a Google Slide is an easy for teachers and students a tool to add their own voice and sound effects make your slide deck more engaging.  You and your students can voice over slide presentations, record yourself playing an instrument or add external sound files to bring your slide deck to life.

Sound files can be downloaded from Wikipedia entries.

Cloning Items for Drag and Drop Activities in Slides

“Clone” objects for a Google Slides template activity.  Think of “never ending” sticky notes for a brainstorming session, sorting and classifying, or labeling diagrams!  The ideas are endless!

Hiding Thumbnails in Slides

You can now hide the slides on the side, referred to as the filmstrip. This provides you with much more space for editing and allows you to add content and interact with the slide while presenting!
