Each school in Garnet Valley has a Building Advisory Council (BAC) made up of parent volunteers. These councils were formed to assist with communication, identify school-related issues, and collaboratively develop solutions suitable for all stakeholders.Â
The BAC plays an important role in strengthening communication between families, school leadership, and the district. Your input helps ensure that parent voices are represented in meaningful ways and that building-level feedback can be elevated to district-wide conversations when appropriate.
Throughout the year, you will have the opportunity to:
Collaborate with your principal/s and fellow representatives to discuss building-level topics.
Share insights from your school community that can help guide decision-making.
Serve as a liaison by communicating updates and feedback between the BAC, DAC, and your parent community.
The process for submitting BAC issues is as follows: Issues should be initially raised at the BAC meetings at each school. If an issue cannot be resolved at the building level, BAC members will discuss the issue at a DAC meeting with the Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Marc Bertrando. If necessary, the issue will be referred to the School Board.
