Please keep library books in a safe place away from pets and younger siblings when they are not being read.
Books are due 2 weeks after checkout. Students may bring their books in and renew them weekly (recheck out with new due date) so they won't be late. If it is on hold for another student, you will need to return the book at the end of the 2 weeks. Please return your library books as soon as possible so that other students may enjoy them. If a student has a late book, our computer system will automatically send you a notice to your email listed in Skyward at the beginning of the week.
If the book is lost or damaged, please let the librarian know. We will send a notice of the book's cost if it is lost or if we cannot repair it so that we may replace the book. We accept a check made out to Dorsey or cash (we can make change). If you find the lost book within 1 year, you will get your money back. If the cost is a burden, please contact the librarian.
If the book gets wet, please stand the book up and spread the pages. You may use a fan to help it dry. Please leave it this way and return it to the library ASAP so we can work on it. If the book can be dried and there is no permanent damage, it can be turned in and another book checked out. Sometimes books will stay wet deep in the spines and start growing mold or mildew. Those books will need to be replaced.
Books may be returned at any time by placing them in the red "Book Return" carts outside of the library doors.
Books may also be returned during weekly class library time or during open checkout.
