United States Navy

United States Coast Guard
The Coast Guard is one of our nation's five military services. We exist to defend and preserve the United States. We protect the personal safety and security of our people; the marine transportation system and infrastructure; our natural and economic resources; and the territorial integrity of our nation–from both internal and external threats, natural and man-made. We protect these interests in U.S. ports, inland waterways, along the coasts, and on international waters.
United States Marine Corps
The Marine Corps has been America's expeditionary force in readiness since 1775. We are forward deployed to respond swiftly and aggressively in times of crisis. We are soldiers of the sea, providing forces and detachments to naval ships and shore operations. We are global leaders, developing expeditionary doctrine and innovations that set the example, and leading other countries' forces and agencies in multinational military operations. These unique capabilities make us "First to Fight," and our nation's first line of defense.
Army National Guard
National Guard Soldiers serve both community and country. Our versatility enables us to respond to domestic emergencies, overseas combat missions, counterdrug efforts, reconstruction missions and more. The Guard always responds with speed, strength and efficiency, helping to defend American freedom and ideals.

Selective service
By law, virtually all men must register for selective service at 18. The registration program allows our government to keep an accurate list of names and addresses for young men, 18 through 25 years old. In a national emergency requiring expansion of our Armed Forces, the list would be used to call men for possible military service. By registering all young men, the Selective Service System makes sure a future draft will be fair. If you do not register, you could be prosecuted and fined up to $250,000 and/or be put in jail for up to five years. Registration is also required to qualify for Federal student financial aid, job training benefits, and most Federal Employment. To register click here:

ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) - Founded in 1916, ROTC stands for Reserve Officer Training Corps. It's a college program offered at over 1,700 colleges and universities across the United States that prepares young adults to become officers in the U. S. Military. In exchange for a paid college education and a guaranteed post-college career, cadets commit to serve in the Military after graduation. Each Service branch as its own take on ROTC.
