High Performance Athlete - HPA
The High Performance Athlete Program is designed to support students who are competing in a sport at the provincial, national and/or international level and require a timetable accommodation as a result of their training time and or being away for blocks of time. Offered in all grades.
One to four credits per semester, depending on training hours and required courses
May be taken all year or only in one semester
Training is supervised and aligns with the school year.
Train in a qualified sport at the provincial, national or international level
Complete the BCSS HPA GForm application
Your coach will be contacted
Complete weekly log sheets and daily Google Form, to verify training times and hours
Complete HPA assignments on time
Attend the monthly class and/or individual One on Ones
Reapply on a yearly basis
Students Athletes who;
are competing at a Provincial, National or International level, in a qualifying sport
require timetable accommodations, for training purposes during a regular school day i.e.) Students who train at 2pm daily or will be away for blocks of time, for training/competitions
have training hours which may be based on 15 hours per week over a 4 month period or 10 hours per week over a 10 month period
have a willingness to complete required assignments and logs on time
can communicate effectively in a asynchronous (learn on your own) format
are committed to the HPA Protocol Agreement
During the course selection process, sign up on My Blueprint for HPA, 1-4 credits, depending on your need.
This does NOT ensure a spot in the BCSS HPA program.
All students who select HPA in MY Blueprint are required to ALSO complete & submit the supplementary Google Form with information including a coach reference. Please see the link below.

Upon a successful application, students will be notified by June regarding their acceptance.
Upon an unsuccessful application, students will be notified by June and placed into a grade appropriate Health and Physical Education course offered at BCSS.
Students must reapply every year, if they intend to remain in the HPA program
