HPA
What is HPA?
HPA stands for the High Performance Athlete program. This program is run through the Cooperative Education department at BCSS
HPA programming allows for eligible students to earn Health and Physical Education credits that are counted towards their Ontario Secondary School Diploma
HPA strives to allow high level athletes to balance the demands of their sport competition and training schedule with the rigors of their academic pursuits at BCSS
Who Should Apply for HPA?
Students who require timetable accommodations throughout the course of a regular school day for training purposes
i.e. Students who have training at 2:30 in the afternoon
Students who are competing at a Provincial/National level or higher in a qualifying sport
Students who train/compete during the school year a minimum of:
15 hours a week over a 4 month period
10 hours a week over a 10 month period
Students who comply with all of the Admittance Criteria and commit to the HPA Protocol Agreement
or
visit the Guidance or COOP Department
