EA: TOK Essay 

Welcome to UWCSEA Dover's help site for your TOK Essay.

This is the place where you should find the advice and resources you may need to help you write your essay.

1. Be very very careful not to plagiarise - source all ideas!

2. Do not use any websites devoted to TOK essays (except this one)!

3. Do not google the titles as you will end up with the same ideas as thousands of other IB students! 

During the process of your TOK Essay Writing, you will have THREE INTERACTIONS with your teacher and your reflections must be recorded in the 'Planning and Progress Form' on Managebac.

Taken from the IB TOK PPF 2017:

1. The first interaction should focus on discussing the prescribed titles and choosing the title for your essay. 

• You should explain why did you choose your Prescribed Title (PT) and what are your first ideas about it. Discuss how the TOK Launch Day workshops, the classroom discussions, and the meeting with your teacher helped you decide.

2. In your second interaction, you should discuss the development of your ideas in relation to your chosen title, and you may present to your teacher an exploration of those ideas in some written form. This will allow you to create a plan for the structure of your essay.

3. For your final interaction,  you need to present to your teacher a full first draft of your essay. The teacher is permitted to provide written comments on your draft, but will not mark or edit your draft. Please remember that your teacher can not read more than one draft of your essay.
