Check out this vlog from a boarding student coming in to Singapore!
Advice:
Arrive 3 hours before your flight departure time to allow for process through security, customs and immigration.
Check in so you have your ticket, luggage and gate number.
Find your departure gate soon- larger airports may take a while to walk there!
Connect to wifi when you can for any necessary internet updates.
Don't leave important documents on tables; always keep your personal belongings with you.
Documents you will need to take to the airport to check in - please print hard copies.
Print out the IPA letter. This is the letter that says the student pass has been approved.
Flight ticket.
Yellow Fever Certificate (only if you are travelling from or have travelled through these countries)
The day before you depart:
Fill in the online SG Arrival Card at this link 3 days or fewer before the departure flight: https://eservices.ica.gov.sg/sgarrivalcard/
Select “Submit SGAC” and then click on the “Foreign Visitors / In Principle Approval Button” button. If you have problems filling this in, let your BSE know at least one day before the flight.
Information on the process on arrival in Singapore:
Disembark the plane. Follow the yellow signs that say “Arrival”.
Go to the Immigration Checkpoint.
At Immigration, they will check the documents and process entry into Singapore. You will need to show the SG Arrival Card confirmation email, your passport, vaccination certificate and Student Pass IPA letter to the officer.
Collect your luggage from the baggage reclaim area. Your flight number and departure city will be displayed on the screen above each luggage carousel. After collecting luggage, go through the glass doors to the arrivals area.
If you are travelling with your parents, then you can catch a taxi from the airport directly from the taxi stand at the airport. If you are travelling unaccompanied, there will be staff and students from the boarding house waiting to welcome you as you come out of the luggage claim area. They will be holding a banner that says “Welcome to Tampines House”. They will accompany you back to the boarding house.
