Orientation Programme 2024

• The orientation programme for all new students commences on Wednesday, 7  August 2024.

• Thursday 15 August 2pm to Friday 16 August 2pm: All returning boarders must have arrived in the boarding house to commence preparations for the new academic year - no overnight stays outside of the boarding house will be permitted from this date onwards. All boarders will complete the new academic year integration and transition programme from 1 August to 18 August and are expected to be fully resident in the boarding house during that time.

School holidays

Tampines House will remain open for 24 hours at the end of each school term or half-term. This means that if school ends at 15:00 on a Friday afternoon, the last boarder should leave the House by 15:00 on the Saturday afternoon. Boarders who wish to stay longer must seek special permission from the Director of Residential Life.   

For all holidays, except the start of the year in August, Tampines House will be open again to boarders 24 hours before the start of the new school term. This means that boarders can start arriving at any time after 18:00 on the Saturday before the school term resumes to before 18:00 on the Sunday. Boarders who need to arrive early must again seek special permission from the Director of Residential Life. Permission will be granted only if no alternative arrangements can be made and the supervising capacity of the Houseparent on duty is not exceeded.

For the start of the year in August, we expect all of our returning students entering grades 9 and 11 to join in the full orientation programme as they enter a new phase in their learning programme. All remaining students need to be in the house by 14:00 on the Friday before the start of the academic year to participate in the annual transition programme prior to the start of the school year.

All boarders are required to be back in the House by 18:00 on the day before school starts again for the new term / half-term.
