Patrick Hurworth, Head of Campus
I am delighted to be able to welcome you all to the SEASAC Softball tournament. Welcome to UWCSEA Dover Campus, the older of our two homes. For over fifty years our school has welcomed athletes from schools in Singapore and around the region and you are most welcome to be part of that ever growing group who have experienced our hospitality and the great competition which SEASAC brings.
SEASAC brings with it great contests and camaraderie. One is not more important than the other, but they are both hugely important. These tournaments forge firm friendships within the teams and across teams and schools. It’s always so fulfilling to see these students make the most of the opportunity to travel and compete, all in a good spirit and high degree of expertise in their field. Softball is a game of patience, endurance, athleticism strategy as much as any other; we are in for a treat as these athletes and coaches bring their best to Dover.
As ever, I encourage us all to remain supportive of the students, coaches and officials. Let’s support within the spirit of SEASAC and student sport, setting the right example to our students. The umpires will do their best as will all involved. Let’s continue to ensure that Dover is a place where people love spending their time and are keen to return. Play ball!
