We are a driven group of students from Grade 10, currently studying in the UWCSEA East Campus located in Singapore. As a group, we are passionate to address the rising human rights issues in our community as part of our Global Perspectives Project in hopes to create an ideal community where each individual can have the Human Rights prescribed to them by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
In this project, we have decided to address the disguised issue of Human Trafficking and the poor treatment of migrant workers/foreign domestic workers throughout Singapore. Despite the government's vast efforts which have been quite effective up to a certain point, these issues continue to degrade our universally perceived utopian society, furthermore left veiled from the eyes of the common public. Our group hopes to use our platform to increase awareness regarding the issue and develop solutions to assist our partners in their efforts to assist those who have been impacted and prevent such a horrible fate to happen to any other Migrant Worker here, in Singapore. We question, does all the success of Singapore belie a soft underbelly?
