FIRST.
Time: 30 minutes
INSTRUCTIONS
Transfer the dimensions (measurements) from the image left onto the A4 sized paper given to you
You will need 5 pieces marked out - all will fit onto the A4 paper
You should 'nest' the designs so that they fit properly (see example below)
Nest 5 designs like this to save space. Tip: Utilise the outer edges - no need to draw these lines as they are already there...
THEN.
Time: 30 minutes
SIZE RESTRICTIONS:
When converting to a 2D outline the size should be no larger than 150 mm X 70 mm (so that it will fit onto the A4 card several times).
INSTRUCTIONS
Like the example above, you will:
Choose one of the two lamp designs (left)
Consider how this 3D structure could be converted into a 2D silhouette and sketch it (max 150 mm high), dividing your 2D silhouette in half, creating one 'side' outline (like the original above)
Transfer your 2D outline to the A4 sheet of card provided - nest your design (like the example above) to save space and cutting
Cut our your design using a craft knife, ruler and cutting mat
Attach your pieces to the 3D printed central housing and test with a light source
Tip: Use the edge of the card for straight lines as it is already a straight line - less cutting...
Completed examples.
