KnowBe4 is an online cyber security awareness platform we are making available for all full-time learners. It helps you understand how to stay safe online, spot scams, and protect yourself and your own information as well as your college account.
Through the platform, you will be given short cyber security training modules designed to help you recognise, avoid, and respond safely to common online threats.
Training can be accessed through a web browser or through the official KnowBe4 Learner App.
Cyber security affects everyone, not just businesses. Online scams, fake emails and hacked accounts are very common, especially for students who use email, social media, apps and online services every day.
Colleges are also regularly targeted by cyber attacks, which can:
Disrupt learning
Stop access to online systems
Put personal data at risk
KnowBe4 helps you:
Spot fake or suspicious emails and messages
Avoid unsafe links and downloads
Keep your passwords and personal information safe
Avoid or safely deal with online scams and threats
The skills you learn are useful both in college and in everyday life.
You can access KnowBe4 using:
A web browser on a college or personal device
The official KnowBe4 Learner App on your phone or tablet
Your account has already been created on KnowBe4 ready for you to use. When you are enrolled onto a training course:
You will receive an email (sent to your @suffolk.ac.uk mailbox) from KnowBe4
The email contains links to your training and your KnowBe4 Dashboard
KnowBe4 uses single sign-on, linked to your college account, so you only need to enter your @suffolk.ac.uk email address to log in and access the Dashboard when logging in on college PC’s. You should not need to enter a password.
Further info on how to set up and use the app can be found below.
The KnowBe4 website consists of the Dashboard, which provides access to any training modules you have been enrolled on.
The Dashboard also provides a record of your successfully completed training courses, with links to download a certificate for each course you have completed.
The training modules will include a range of content such as videos, multiple-choice questions, quizzes or even games.
Certificates are generated for each training course you complete successfully, allowing you to showcase your cyber security knowledge and awareness. These can be downloaded once a course has been completed via the Dashboard.
If you want to view or download certificates from previously completed training modules, these can be viewed under the “Training” menu on the Dashboard.
When you have been enrolled on a training campaign, you will receive an email that looks like the below:
The first link takes you directly to the training module, the second link takes you to the KnowBe4 Dashboard.
Clicking on the second link in the email will take you to your KnowBe4 Dashboard, it should look like the image below:
Your Dashboard shows you the progress on any new or in-progress training courses you have, and provides a “Go to Training” button to take you to the Training modules you are enrolled on.
When you start a training module, any progress you make will be automatically saved, so you can simply close the training window and come back later if needed.
