Two students at Suffolk New College have been awarded for their exceptional commitment to their education, achieving 100% attendance in their English and Maths lessons. Ibrahim Oladosu, a Maths student, and Denice Tapfumanei, an English student, were among 379 full-time students who maintained perfect attendance throughout the term.
As part of the college’s recognition program, these students were congratulated through a letter and entered into a prize draw for a £50 Amazon voucher. The draw took place at the beginning of the new term in January, further celebrating their dedication to their studies.
Suffolk New College commended the student's hard work, emphasizing how essential good attendance is for both academic success and future career prospects. The college encourages all students to maintain excellent attendance, as it is a key employability skill.
Congratulations to Ibrahim and Denice for their outstanding achievement, and to all students who demonstrated dedication by attending every lesson!
Three learners have each received a £50 gift voucher after earning BeSNC commendations for receiving the most nominations. These commendations, given by lecturers and staff, recognise their commitment, hard work, and dedication to going above and beyond in their learning.
Friba is studying Functional Skills Level 2 English Writing. She attends extra support sessions to improve her grammar and works incredibly hard during each session. Friba is always proactive, never hesitating to write and respond thoughtfully to feedback.
Daniel is studying GCSE English and is an exceptionally tenacious and hardworking learner. He attends numerous support sessions, stays engaged, and continuously strives to improve. His determination and positive attitude make him a pleasure to teach!
Matthew exemplifies resilience and self-motivation. Since starting Functional Skills in 2017, he has shown unwavering determination, progressing steadily. He now only needs to pass the reading element of his Level 2 Functional Skills qualification — a testament to his hard work and perseverance.
These learners are a credit to Suffolk New College. Despite finding English challenging, they have shown remarkable effort, determination, and self-motivation. Well done, Friba, Daniel, and Matthew — you’ve made us all proud! 🎓👏

Take Your Place is an ongoing project at Suffolk New College that aims to increase the number of students that move on to Higher Education (such as university or higher education apprenticeships) after they finish college. Our goals are to provide you with key information about the benefits of university, support you in getting there, and prepare you for the realities of student life!
We do this by offering loads of stuff such as University taster days and visits, and subject-specific trips and activities. On campus, we invite academic guests like university lecturers to speak to you, and offer one-to-ones and workshops in PD sessions around topics like student finance, UCAS applications and personal statements.
Activities we support include trips to University taster days and subject- specific visits to museums, exhibitions and other employers. If you have taken part in an activity like this recently please do read the Data Protection Notice which explains how the College and Take Your Place share information about students.
