During the COVID-19 crisis of early 2020, many teams adapted to working remotely from home. In this season meetings are over video, communication is sometime indirect, and this can at times create unique challenges. Many businesses have remained with hybrid working and flexible working form home.
Tips for working from home:
Go to bed on time:
The temptation is to stay up late, watching TV, gaming or hanging out with friends. Try not to do this in in the week, as to be effective, continue to lead normal routines. In the morning, set your alarm and get up on time.
Get dressed:
Even if you don't see anytime, or you turn your camera off on your video calls, getting dressed sends your brain a cue that its time to go to work. Get dressed and be in the mind-set to be productive.
Set three goals each day:
Name the top three priorities for today and focus on them. Do them first. There will always be other tasks, emails, calls etc. that crop up, but you'll continue to be effective if you complete the three most important things each day.
If you have quiet times - continue to stretch your mind. Offer to support your colleague or leaders, Research aspect of your company, listen to a new podcast, add to your personal development plan.
Exercise:
Being cooped up in the house all day and a tendency to sit and veg out. If its nice, go outside. Or do a workout video
