Level 3 began their first specialist units (music videos and podcasting) and produced some really professional looking work. The Music Video team outdid themselves in approaching 'real' musicians, as well as enlisting bands from across the corridor in the Music department. There is some super-slick editing on display here, as well as a potential Christmas number one!
Level 3 Music - "Sex on Fire"
Katie outdid herself with problem-solving - going so far as to play the drums for the band when their regular drummer had to pull out! Some really good ideas behind the camera are brought together in this excellent, fast-paced video that shows a real eye for the edit.
Beth - "Faded"
Mollie's organisational skills were put to the test when plans fell through with both her Plan A and Plan B artists! Luckily, Raven volunteered to act as a singer in the TV studio, and Mollie has created this very classic and classy performance video for her song "Faded" by Beth. Some great colour grading on display!
Fraser Morgan - "Inebriation"
Tilly impressed by reaching out to Essex-based singer-songwriter Fraser Morgan and capturing a live performances on a cold night down in Colchester. Some professional looking titles and smooth cutaways help to highlight what a cosy gig this was, and good camera setup puts us right in the midst of the action.
The Christmas Geezers - "Merry Christmas"
Jess enlisted the help of Level 3 Music students to make this merriest of music videos, and some good directing in the TV Studio ensured we got to see some very natural reactions from her performers. We love the vintage mid-2000s effect from the miniDV cam shooting on real tape stock - so satisfying!
Molly - "Snowman"
Another Christmas hit, this time edited by Raven - very gentle edits and nostalgic-looking 'cosy' footage help turn this bedroom-filmed project into a bittersweet and soulful narrative of lost friendship.
