WILD ABOUT SUMMER SCHOOL

Grades: 4K

Class Description:  Students will be introduced to beginning school readiness skills.  Fun and engaging weekly themes expose kids to language, literacy, math, science, and social studies.  Fine motor and gross motor skills, as well as social skills, will be practiced throughout the summer school session.

FUN WITH NATURE 

Grades: K-3

Course Description:  Let's have fun with nature right outside our back door!  Our nature class will have nature walks, trips to local parks, nature crafts with items found in nature, and many books to read about nature.  Let's learn more about nature by adventuring out to the great outdoors!


READY WRITERS

Grades:  K-2

Teacher: Mrs. Borchardt

Course Description:  Who said writing couldn't be fun?  Students will practice their skills of writing letters, words & simple stories through sensory-rich experiences and crafts.  Students will practice forming letters and complete writing related activities with various materials including play-doh, shaving cream, paint and even sticks!  Don't worry, we will also be spending time outside so that students can work on gross motor skills that assist with the development of handwriting.  


BOOK COOKS  

Grades: K-3

Course Description:  Stir up a batch of eager readers with "Book Cooks" literature based classroom cooking activities.  All recipes are inspired by favorite children's books and will motivate young readers in enjoying hands-on cooking experiences.  


LEGO LAND

Grades: K-5

Teacher:  Mrs. Bankes

Course Description:  In Lego Land, students will use their creativity to build with multiple Legos which includes free building, themes each week, challenge Lego cards, Lego car races, and much more!


GAMES, GAMES, GAMES

Grades: 1-3

Course Description:  Come join the fun this summer where we will explore all different kinds of games.  This includes board games, card games, outdoor games, brain teasers, and many more.  Many games will be centered around reinforcing reading and math skills.  


ADVENTURES IN READING & MATH

Grades: 1-5

Teachers:  Mr. Gauger and Miss Narloch

Course Description:  Students will participate in math centers, reading centers, small group reading, partner reading, and reading to self.  Come and enjoy adventures in reading and math. 


PLAY 120 

Grades:   K-4

Course Description:  Are you ready to have fun?  In Play 120, we will be enjoying a variety of games and activities including: playground games, sports games, cooperative games, adventures to the school forest, and much more!  Come join the fun, and let's get ready to Play 120!


SWIMMING   

Grades: 2-8

Teachers:  Mr. Hafferman and Miss Imhoff

Course Description:  There will be two 2-week sessions of swimming offered this summer.  Dates are: June 10-20 and June 24-July 3.  First session bus loads at 7:45, leaves at 8:00 and returns at 10:10.  Second session bus loads at 9:30, leaves at 9:45 and returns at 11:40.  


PINTEREST INTEREST - D.I.Y.

Grades:  2-6

Teacher:  Mrs. Mroczenski

Course Description:  Spark your creativity with Pinterest-inspired D.I.Y. (do-it-yourself) crafting class!  Each week we will have a new and exciting D.I.Y. theme to channel your creativity and create hands-on projects. 


RAVISHING REGIONS

Grades:  3-6

Teacher:  Miss Schnelle

Course Description:  Come explore the different regions of the United States!  We will learn about what makes each region unique from landforms to cool histories to popular food.


CRIME SOLVERS

Grades: 4-8

Teacher:  Mrs. Wozny

Course Description:  Whodunnit?!  This class covers crime solving basics:  finger painting, scavenger hunts, solving mysteries, and riddles.  Use your best detective skills to solve mock crime scenes.  We will play CLUE and watch mystery movies!


MS FIT 4 LIFE

Grades:  5-6

Teacher:  Mr. Dahl and Mr. Rau

Course Description:  This course will incorporate a wide range of total body fitness activities.  We will focus on a variety of activities that will develop cardiovascular endurance, muscular growth, strength, speed, and flexibility.  The students will work on using proper form during exercise and drills, in addition to developing mental toughness.


BOOKS, MOVIES & POPCORN

Course Description:  Who doesn't love a great book with interesting characters and a great story!  And, who doesn't love movies?  This is the perfect combo - a recipe for relaxation and fun with friends - new and old.  Not to mention delicious beverages and popcorn to boot!  


BOARD GAME BONANZA

Grades:  5-8

Course Description:  The students will challenge themselves and others as they participate in a variety of fun strategy board games.  A variety of games will be played and tournament games will challenge the students even more.  No level of expertise required.  Simply come join us for several weeks of great gaming fun!

OTHER CLASSES

BABYSITTING 101 - June 10-13 from 8:00-3:00 

Grades:  5-8

Teacher:  Mrs. Borchardt

Course Description:  Do you love babies and little kids?  Are you responsible and caring?  If you answered YES!, this class is the one for you!  We will learn how to entertain children of all ages in a babysitter preparation class.  There will be songs, games, snacks, and projects that children of all ages will love.  Each student will complete a babysitter's preparation handbook, create a babysitter survival kit, learn CPR by a certified professional, and have a chance to practice their newly learned skills!  You will then receive a certificate from The American Red Cross that says, "I'm officially a certified babysitter!"  Or you might need a refresher!


HUNTER'S SAFETY - June 17-20 4:00-8:00 (DNR requires a $10 registration fee)

Grades:  Ages 11 and older

Teacher:  Mr. Koenig and Mr. Niemann

Course Description:  Earn your hunter safety certificate.  You must attend all sessions to meet the required hours.


CHESS CLUB - FRIDAYS ONLY 8:00-10:00 or 10:00-12:00

Grades:  3-12

Teacher:  Mr. Hanson

Course Description:  Students will learn the set up of the board and the basics of the game.  Students will learn different moves and strategies in the game of chess.  Students will solve chess puzzles and engage in discussion about different situations on the board.  Students will compete against each other.  It is my hope to form a Chess Team/Chess Club in the fall.
