New and more secure login experience with Okta!
We are updating our Single Sign On (SSO) service to provide a simpler and more secure log-in experience.
What is Single Sign On (SSO)? SSO makes it easier for you to log into our various websites and online resources using your Gallaudet credentials instead of registering for separate accounts on each system.
Don’t we already have SSO? Yes, many of our resources are already SSO-enabled using the Azure SSO product. We are implementing Okta, one of the leading Identity Platform services that offers a more secure login experience. The services currently on Azure will be moved to Okta.
Why are we doing this now? The move to Okta is part of Gallaudet’s overall operational transformation and coincides with the launch of the WorkDay platform (replacing PeopleSoft) for financial and human resources management. It is also a crucial part of the implementation of Transact to provide a more secure and convenient purchasing experience, including the ability to use Bison Bucks, Dining Dollars, and Block Meals.
Do I have to do anything? Yes, when you attempt to log into a product on the Okta SSO system (WorkDay, Deem, Transact, etc.), you will see the login page pictured below. The first time you log in using Okta, you will be prompted to set up your multi-factor authentication (MFA) methods. MFA are various ways for the system to ensure it’s really you logging in. Some methods may include having a code texted to your phone or using the Okta Authenticator app on your phone (preferred).
Alternatively, you can also log into all apps currently included in Okta SSO by going to https://gallaudet.okta.com.
