Course Description

This course introduces students to the Macintosh computer system, digital camera basics, and Adobe software, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Digital imaging, illustration, layout, and other digital art techniques will be introduced. Course Description

This course introduces the elements and principles of digital media in a variety of forms. Basic knowledge and skills using video camera equipment, digital editing applications such as Final Cut Pro and After Effects, script-writing and storyboarding are discussed within a framework of examples from the past and the present.

This course introduces students to basic financial accounting theory and practice. Course Description

Management (or Managerial) Accounting comprises financial and nonfinancial information intended to meet internal users’ needs. It involves the development and interpretation of accounting information intended to assist management in the operation of the business. Topics include financial statement analysis and the use of accounting information for planning and control, performance evaluation, and decision-making. The course will cover cost behavior, job order costing, process costing, cost volume-profit relationship, relevant costing/benefits, budgeting, activity-based costing, cash flow and financial statement analysis.

Course Description

This course focuses on the analysis of discourse in dialogic genres of English and American Sign Language (ASL) so that interpreting students become explicitly aware of the features of language use in everyday life. Students transcribe and analyze interaction discourse features of conversations, explanations, interviews, discussions, and other types of dialogue genres while reading and discussing theoretical notions underlying language use.

Course Description

This course is an exercise class that is specifically designed for beginners. Participating students will develop an understanding of the basic principles behind exercise. Students will learn to discover the relationship between exercise and their overall health, wellness and fitness. Participants will work to improve their overall fitness level throughout the 14 weeks of attendance.

The exercise classes will focus on various aspects of cardiorespiratory fitness, muscle fitness and flexibility. Fitness and health concepts of safety, overload, nutrition and stress will be covered in the theoretical portion of the class.

Course Description

This course includes a variety of hatha yoga styles, including Iyengar, Vinyasa, and Sivananda. Release stresses relax your mind, and tone your body while practicing stretching, strengthening, and balancing asanas (poses). Breathing (pranayama) is the most fundamental component of yoga and life, therefore will be combined with asanas and meditation for each class. This class is designed for all fitness levels.

The class provides participants with the opportunity for skill improvement, strengthening of test-taking strategies, and sample test practice for the mathematics section of the Praxis 1: Pre-Professional Skills Assessments (PPST).
