How Can I Help My Child At Home?
Each grade has a list of HEART Words (sight words) that they are expected to know by the end of that grade. These are words you have to remember by heart because they don't follow normal patterns. You can work with your child to see if they can master all of these words.
Ideas:
Create flash cards
Make a bingo board and use these words
Play Memory or Tic Tac Toe with the words
Make a hopskotch game with words
Math Unit 1 Family Information
We will host 4 Community Reads days this school year. The dates will be October 21, November 21, February 27 and March 27. We ask community members to come to read to each of our classes. We love sharing this opportunity with our students!
In collaboration with the high school we are going to host FIRED UP FRIDAYS! Each Friday we hope to have a sport or club from the high school come over to help us unload the buses and cars. This can raise awareness about what the high school has to offer and encourage older peer relationships. We know our students will be happy about this opportunity!
