2025. 01. 08. Academic Performance
In the first month of 2025, one of the most magnificent events of our school, the School-Based Curriculum Presentation, took place with special guests from Zhongshan Girls High School. Throughout the two-hour event, students from both Chenggong High School and Zhongshan Girls High School took turns sharing their findings and insights on topics that touched their lives and the world around them.
Our school-based curriculum, International Understanding, is designed to cultivate a global vision and connect students to the world. Each week, freshmen explore a predetermined topic aligned with the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), engaging in in-depth research and progressively completing a written report under the guidance of their teachers. At the end of the semester, outstanding students are honored with the opportunity to present their findings at this prestigious event.
This semester’s presentation was especially remarkable as we collaborated with our partner school, Zhongshan Girls High School. Their curriculum, which aligns closely with our International Understanding program, made them an ideal partner for this shared academic endeavor. Students from Zhongshan joined our students in delivering insightful and inspiring presentations.
The topics presented ranged from environmental protection to mental health, showcasing the breadth of the students' interests and research efforts. For instance, one Chenggong group discussed the current state of Taiwan’s reliance on fossil fuel-powered vehicles and proposed actionable solutions to expand public transportation and encourage biking. A Zhongshan team addressed the pervasive issue of stress among high school students, presenting strategies to tackle mental health challenges effectively.
To prepare for the presentation and accompanying reports, students immersed themselves in extensive research and critical thinking. "It's amazing to see all the remarkable presentations given by such excellent speakers!" said Principal Liu, who expressed immense pride in the students’ accomplishments.
The event concluded with a quick awarding ceremony to recognize the outstanding efforts of the students. It was a moment of celebration for their academic achievements and a testament to our curriculum.

This semester’s School-Based Curriculum Presentation not only showcased the depth of the students’ explorations but also their ability to conduct research, articulate their findings, and propose meaningful solutions. The event stands as a shining example of our commitment to fostering global-minded, capable young leaders.
