One of the most significant events for the sophomore class, the Self-Directed Learning Presentation, was held on December 26th. Representing their respective classes, 12 outstanding self-learners came together to share their research insights and projects with their peers.
The presentations covered a diverse range of topics, from gaming innovations to academic pursuits. The event began with an impressive demonstration of lightsaber combat, where the first presenters showcased their mastery of the skill. Their dynamic performance captivated the audience and set an energetic tone for the event.
Another group presented their innovative creation—a plastic bow designed for shooter games. This unique device allows players to replace traditional controllers with a realistic bow, enabling them to feel like real archers. By releasing the string and hitting virtual targets, players experience an unparalleled level of immersion in the gaming world.
Several presentations ventured into thought-provoking and impactful topics. Two students focused on political initiatives, discussing the establishment of a student council and the role of a Child and Youth Representative. Others explored academic and technological advancements, including a novel approach to cancer treatment and integrating technology into English learning.
After the presentations, the audience and teachers participated in a vote to select the winners of the event. The principal delivered an inspiring speech, acknowledging the students' hard work and creativity. The event concluded with an award ceremony, marking a fitting finale to this grand occasion.
