In August, we warmly welcomed our new first-year students as they began an exciting new chapter in their educational journey. To help them adjust to high school life, we organized a comprehensive orientation program featuring an introduction to the school, engaging workshops, and a lively club fair.
The two-day orientation started with students meeting their homeroom teachers and classmates for the first time. During this initial session, students introduced themselves to their peers, sharing their backgrounds and interests.
They also participated in the election of school officers. The warm and welcoming atmosphere helped ease any first-day jitters and created a sense of belonging from the start.
Throughout the orientation, students attended a series of inspiring speeches by school leaders and lecturers from outside the school. These talks provided valuable insights into high school life, highlighting opportunities for personal growth, academic achievement, and extracurricular involvement.
A memorable part of the orientation was learning to sing the school anthem. Led by Mr. Marc Tien (田鴻魁), an alumnus and a famous sports broadcaster in Taiwan, students enthusiastically practiced the anthem.
The collective experience of singing together fostered a strong sense of community and pride among the new students. This meaningful activity passed down the school’s traditions to the freshmen, connecting them to the achievements of past generations and inspiring them to uphold and carry forward this legacy into the future.
The event concluded with the much-anticipated club fair, where students had the opportunity to explore the diverse range of clubs and organizations available at the school. Booths were set up in the hall, each creatively showcasing the unique activities and missions of the clubs. Freshmen eagerly interacted with club members, asked questions, and signed up for the groups that sparked their interest.
The orientation left students excited and confident about their high school journey. It laid the foundation for a supportive and engaging school community, ensuring that our newest members feel at home as they embark on this exciting adventure.
