Message from our Head of School,

Dr. Kathryn Miner

The Largest Cyber Security Training and Educational Conference in the UAE:

Hack in the Box 2019 – Abu Dhabi

Starting on October 12th and going until October 17th will be the largest cyber security training and educational conference in the UAE: Hack in the Box 2019 – Abu Dhabi taking place at Emirates Palace.

Cyber and the related technologies, culture, and innovations have permeated lives across the globe at different levels. This conference (HiTB) is meant to educate people from all walks of life, and all career roles and ages, about all the ways that cyber has impacted lives and will continue to do so in the future. For example, the conference has a special area dedicated to showcasing the intersection of biology and cyber (the Bio Hacking Village). So even if you aren’t specifically interested in computers, technology, or cyber itself there are still many activities that might interest you.

To register and to view available activities, visit this link. To encourage attendance throughout the conference there is special pricing for students and UAE residents to attend the conference talks and different activity villages. When you register please note that although there are some free activities they may be focused upon certain roles (such as students or teachers).

The Conference kicks off at 9:00 am on Saturday October 12th. In this link you will find the activities designed for families and youth, such as:

  • The Game of Cyber Threats,
  • The Career Zone,
  • Hacklab High School (for high school and university students),
  • Cyber Education Workshops (for teachers),
  • “Hack in the Class” sessions - for those students interested in learning “hands on cyber security”
  • and many more...

Please keep in mind that when you register you should only pick one session.

HiTB Abu Dhabi is going to be a showcase of technologies and cultural information that focuses on informing students, teachers, and parents. It is highly recommended for families of both Elementary and Secondary students.

With Thanks,

Kathryn Miner

Head of School and CEO
