GAA Parents Association (GAAPA)

Message from our Head of School,

Dr. Kathryn Miner

Our Unique Program

As visiting parents consider the educational options for their children as compared to other curriculum schools, they often ask us to explain the difference in our educational experience and environment here at GAA.

We all know that GAA is a special place for our students but it is important to understand (and celebrate) the key differences found in our unique program. I’m certainly proud to lead and serve this dynamic school community and look forward to continuing my leadership in the coming year and beyond.

At GAA we provide each student with a holistic, inquiry based, engaging program of studies. We prepare each student to be an internationally minded citizen who takes action to contribute positively to their community and the world.

Today we know that the keys to adult success and happiness are qualities of character: resilience, integrity, caring, leadership, perseverance and grit. With this in mind, at the heart of the American curriculum/IB approach to education is a commitment to the development of the whole child- fostering growth in knowledge and intellect while also promoting creative, physical, emotional and social development.

Our rich and rigorous subject area disciplines and a wide range of extra-curricular experiences allow for young people to pursue individual interests and gain confidence to make their unique contributions to the community.

We foster an inclusive community that inspires and cultivates student engagement, conviction and high achievement and provide for innovative programming that broadly utilizes current and cutting edge digital technologies that accelerate learning.

Most unique to our American curriculum/IB approach is the commitment to provide support systems for every student whether their challenge is learning English for the first time or learning to swim.

In this highly personalized environment, we prepare and inspire each and every student for success throughout their unique educational journey.

Thank you,

Kathryn Miner
