The college application process begins in the fall of a student's senior year.
All college/scholarship applications are due in the Counseling Office
15 SCHOOL DAYS prior to the application deadline - NO EXCEPTIONS!
Even if you have applied online you must complete the following:
Transcript Documents Release Form: must be on file (either digitally or a physical copy) in the Counseling Office prior to you submitting your first Application Tracking Sheet (aka Green Sheet).
Application Tracking Sheet: must accompany every application. Even though you can apply to more than one school on the SUNY and Common Application you still must complete a green application tracking sheet for each school to which you are applying. A copy of this form can be found below.
Maia: Add your colleges to the “Applying” link found in the “Universities” tab.
Letters of Recommendation: If your application requires a letter of recommendation, first ask the teacher in person to write you a letter of recommendation and they agree, add their name under the “Teacher Recommendation” heading in Maia. This will allow teachers to upload their letter to your account. (Be sure to thank them!) If they request a Brag Sheet, a copy of this form can be found below.
Completed College/Scholarship Application: Make sure that all sections of the application are complete.
For Common Application Schools:
1. Create an account at www.commonapp.org and add your common applications schools to your account.
2. Link your Maia account and Common App account in Maia. A step-by-step tutorial can be found here: https://vimeo.com/453705510/c5384eb2da
You will need to complete the FERPA Release Authorization (found on the Common App) before you can link your accounts.
