A+ Program
The A+ Scholarship Program provides scholarship funds to eligible graduates of A+ designated high schools who attend a participating public community college or vocational/technical school, or certain private two-year vocational/technical schools.
a+ program eligibility requirements
Attend an A+ designated school for two consecutive years prior to graduation
Graduate with an overall cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale
Maintain at least 95% overall attendance average record for a 4-year period
Maintain a record of good citizenship with the avoidance of the unlawful use of alcohol or drugs while in grades 9-12. Out-of-school suspension should not reach 10 or more days for any reason.
Attempt to secure any free federal grants for college by completing the FAFSA
Complete 50 hours of unpaid tutoring supervised by an ESSD employee.
Score a Proficient or Advanced on the Algebra I End-of-Course Exam (EOC), or receive a qualifying score on the ACT Math test in conjunction with a high school GPA
17 and 2.5 or greater GPA
16 and 2.8 or greater GPA
15 and 3.0 or greater GPA
Tiger in the classroom
Students who are eligible for the A+ Program can earn all 50 tutoring hours their senior year when they sign up as a Tiger in the Classroom. Students mentor and tutor underclassmen, primarily in core subject areas, throughout the course of a semester.
