Take Away Challenge for Mindful Monday: Pick a Challenge
Challenge One: Can you wiggle your face? Can you wiggle different parts of your face without moving the whole thing. Try wiggling your ears, nose, eyebrows. Can your nose go up and down as well as side to side?
Challenge Two: Traveling Oreo. Sit in a chair with a plate of cookies beside you. For the classic version of the game, use Oreo cookies. Lean your head back and place one cookie in the center of your forehead. You must move the cookie from your forehead to your mouth using only your facial muscles and the forces of gravity
Challenge Three: Pick it up with your feet. Can you draw with your feet?
Challenge Four: No Thumbs. Gently tape your thumbs to the side of your hands and do basic tasks such as opening a door or using a phone. Be sure that the tape is not too tight as you don’t want it to hurt!, Can you write or tie your shoes?
1st-5th Grade Week Six "Curiosity"
Erupting soap is pretty cool to observe. In a matter of seconds, a regular bar of soap erupts into a large, foamy-looking but solid sort of “sculpture.” Plus, there’s a science lesson to be learned while doing this activity too! To make erupting soap, you will need the following materials:
A bar of Ivory soap (you must use Ivory soap as other brands will not work)
Large, microwave-safe bowl or plate
Microwave
Grab your bar of Ivory soap and place it into a large, microwave-safe bowl. Place your bowl and soap into the microwave. Set your microwave to cook on high for 90 seconds. (You may not need to leave the microwave running for the entire 90 seconds, but it is okay if you do.)
Egg Shell Chalk
10 egg shells
2 tsp of plain flour
4 tsp hot water
food dye
paper towel
