Pre-Departure

In order to prepare myself for this adventure, I researched all about Ireland and Westport. I learned more about their educational system, history, and customs. I wanted to be sure that I came to Ireland with an open-mind and and a willingness to learn and try new things. My most used resource when planning for this trip was looking over the previous WKU students' websites. I found it extremely helpful when packing and knowing what to expect. My biggest tip is to pack lots of layers, such as long sleeves, thin jackets (to go underneath bigger ones), rain boots, thick sock, gloves, and beanies.  For the schools, I received an email that we must dress "smart-casual", which means professional while also being functional and comfortable.  I packed a lot of versatile sweaters, comfortable pants and sneakers.  Also, please note that you will need to purchase an adapter because their outlets are different from the U.S's, so I bought an adapter from amazon that has been great. DO NOT pack 8 hours before your flight like me!
