In addition to travel essentials for an overnight trip (chargers, meds, etc), here are some packing tips for TTD...
Attire:
Casual and comfortable; layers for moving between outside and AC
Stay tuned for Thursday's Activity Assignments which may influence your outfit choice
Biz casual or dressy casual optional for dinner outings on Wednesday and Thursday
In your day-bag:
Sun protection (SPF, hats, shades)
Water Bottle
Favorite snacks (we will also have a shared supply of snacks)
Phone with Slack App installed and logged in to UCLA Student Affairs workspace
For your apartment:
Optional: Favorite pillow/blanket if you are picky (though both will be provided by UCSB)
Optional: Snacks/staples for the fridge and pantry, plus any utensils or supplies needed to enjoy
Optional: bathrobe and toiletry bag (bathrooms are shared among the 2 or 3 apartment-mates)
To park on campus, you must have a permit seven days per week. We have been advised to get permits for Parking 60 (accessible parking as needed in other lots)
If you do not have a UCLA parking permit, here are instructions to purchase a UCSB permit for the dates needed.
If you have a UCLA parking permit, please utilize UC's Parking Reciprocity. Here are instructions:
Create a UCSB parking account and link your vehicle's license plate (you do not need to input the VIN)
Get a screen shot of your Bruin ePermit (see here for instructions how).
Email that screenshot to tps-sales@ucsb.edu. Your message can say something like "I have a UCLA staff parking permit, and will be visiting UCSB on [dates] for an event. Can I please have parking reciprocity? I have been told to park in Lot 60."
UCSB Parking will email you back a PDF to print and post on your dashboard.
If you don't receive the PDF in time for your arrival to UCSB, allow time to make a 20-minute detour to the Parking Office before parking in any campus lot. The office is located just off campus, about a mile north of our apartments at 6789 Navigator Drive.
Nearest Tenaya North, Santa Catalina Res Hall, and Portola Dining Commons - Parking 60 (long-term parking, EV charging and disabled parking available)
Nearest the Check-In location (Santa Catalina Res Hall), Tenaya South Apartments, and Portola Dining Commons - Parking 59 (only short-term parking for check-in, and disabled parking)
Nearest Miramar Center - Parking 65 (only with visitor permit or disable parking)
Review reimbursement instructions and submit your reimbursements in myResLife by Monday, August 19th, so that the Finance Team can process in Concur within the 2 week window.
Outside of our programmed agenda, several colleagues are hosting informal get-togethers and wellness activities.
