Trainees learn coaching skills to support participants in the Digital Therapy with Coaching program.
Coaches support participants using a combination of process skills and a deep understanding of how to apply STAND lessons and tools.
Process skills are verbal and non-verbal communication techniques used to help others
Apply the STAND lessons and tools to meet the experiences and needs of the participant
Our team offers trainees a supportive learning process with guidance, encouragement, feedback, and practice. Our trainees are required to complete weekly coursework and actively participate in group training sessions.
Asynchronous assignments include reviewing modules, training videos, and quizzes, etc. (~3-8 hrs a week)
Attend weekly group Zoom sessions to review the training content and practice skills using role-plays (1.5 hrs a week)
Through active participation and progression, trainess are expected to certify as a STAND coach:
Pre-session- 3 week introduction to STAND coaching and our training program
Foundational Training- 17 weeks of intensive training to learn the STAND lessons, process skills, and practice coaching skills through role-plays and session demonstrations. Trainees will be evaluated for certification at the end of Foundational Training by sumbitting a mock coaching demo video.
To apply to the Spring 2023 cohort, you must be:
newly enrolled or enrolled as a student at ELAC with a GPA of 2.0 or higher as of January 17, 2023
available for 5-10 hours per week from March 27, 2023 to August 14, 2023 for the Foundational Training program
available ~5 hours per week from September 2023 through June 2024 to serve as STAND Coach
currently eligible to work in the United States at a location other than ELAC
Please be advised you cannot be enrolled in STAND treatment services AND in the STAND training program at the same time. If you are currently enrolled in any of the STAND at ELAC treatment programs and interested in applying for the training program, it is recommended you DO NOT withdraw from your treatment. You may apply to the training program and we will evaluate each applicant on a case-by-case basis.
