Jake Aziz and a sifaka lemur, called simpony in Malagasy
I'm on the academic job market! I'm interested in tenure-track positions in phonology, phonetics, and fieldwork.
Hi! I'm Jake Aziz. I recently defended my dissertation, The Phonetics and Phonology of Malagasy Vowel Devoicing, in UCLA’s Department of Linguistics.
My interests lie in phonetics and phonology, the syntax-prosody interface, and all things Malagasy. More info on my research can be found here.
My last name is pronounced [e͡ɪzɨz] (like hazes without the /h/) and when you cite me you can use the pronouns he/him!
