The Lab is home to several projects encompassing various mediums and focuses, such as scientific research, museum collaborations, and community education. They use lived experience, scientific training, and creative practice to inform others about how the invisible, unjust systems shaping our lives have brought about current environmental crises. By asking questions and centering the narratives of communities vulnerable to ecological violence and imperialism, the Critical Ecology Lab is making academia a more accessible place for BIPOC students and communities, readying the next generation of environmental change researchers, educators, and organizers.
