Students in the Architecture, Design, and Whitman Core special programs must take courses that are required by your Syracuse London Special Program.
These are found on your SAF and are generally open only to those students admitted to the relevant special program.
Any restrictions are indicated in the "Restrictions/Requisites/Notes" column on the Schedule of Classes and are also listed in the course description of those courses.
Course-related field trips are an integral part of the course and thus mandatory to attend. Some will take place over the weekend. Do not make travel plans before you arrive in London and confirm your academic commitment for class-related study tour(s), make-up classes, exam periods, and other requirements. You might need to rearrange your personal travel plans at your own expense if they do conflict.
Courses with mandatory field study typically carry fees to cover the costs of the site visits and/or study trips. These fees are noted on the Schedule of Classes and each course listing. You can find a list of these fees and what they cover in Spring 2024 Course-Related Fees (PDF). You are encouraged to share it with any person who is financially supporting your studies abroad. Course fees are charged automatically to your Bursar account when you register for the course.
You must remain in good academic standing to participate in our program. If you are placed on academic probation prior to departure, you will be withdrawn from the program.
Carefully review other academic policies applicable to all Syracuse Abroad programs.
At Syracuse University, all work for registered classes must be completed on or before the degree certification date. If you are graduating, check with your home college regarding your degree certification date, and be certain that you are aware of any remaining degree requirements.
If you need to take an online course during a semester abroad to stay on track for graduation, first review the Syracuse Abroad Online Courses policy.
Arrangements to do coursework on an independent research basis, if needed to satisfy a degree requirement, must be made in advance. Due date for proposals is May 15 (for fall semesters) or November 15 (for spring semesters).
Information on enrollment policies, grades, SU library resources, registration, internships, and independent research can be found on the Academic Information page of Preparing to Go: Center Programs.
Check your @syr.edu email address regularly for messages from Syracuse Abroad. If you prefer to use your home school or personal email address, we strongly recommend forwarding your @syr.edu email to that address to avoid missing any vital messages. Syracuse University data security policy requires that certain information be sent only within the syr.edu system.
