This project has been an exciting experience, and I’ve genuinely enjoyed both the research and writing process. I chose Euphoria because I’ve always been a fan of the show, and as someone who hasn’t personally experienced many of the situations it portrays, I saw it as an excellent opportunity to approach the topic from a neutral standpoint. I decided to explore the perspectives of the director, the consumer, and the activist, as each offers a unique and valuable angle on the show and its impact.
After identifying these stakeholders, I conducted in-depth research and expanded my list of sources to include a range of viewpoints. I aimed to avoid bias by incorporating diverse perspectives, and I used tools like the BEAM handout and the Notice and Focus method to guide my analysis.
The BEAM method was particularly useful in helping me pull out key quotes from each article and shape my overall argument. It also helped me decide which terms to include in my terminology section, highlighting words and passages that stood out as meaningful and would aid the reader's understanding.
The most challenging part of this assignment was selecting the three stakeholders I felt were most relevant to the controversy surrounding Euphoria. After doing extensive background research on the show and the discussions around it, I could identify those perspectives. Once I had them, I could better manage my time and focus my efforts on developing the project effectively.
