My team and I attempted to create this game over a weekend for the "Couples Jam" at RIT during February 2023. The premise of this game was that you control an older couple who own a flower shop. The main gameplay loop would involve the player assembling and selling bouquets to passersby. They would be able to select the vase or wrap, the bow around the vase, and, of course, the flowers within it. We used Unity, however, I was in charge of creating the lineart for our flowers, wrap, and vases, as well as fully making some of the environmental assets, which were all done in Photoshop. I've shown a couple of the assets I worked on above. We wanted to try and get a very handmade look as if it was painted and assembled from cutouts.
Dates: February 24-26, 2023
Alex, a Companion Card
Bones, another Companion Card
The Hell Invasion Catastrophe Card (reference to Doom!)
The Alien Invasion Catastrophe Card
This was a board game that I worked on with a team of 4 others in my Game Design and Development Class. This was a competitive survival board game, in which 3-5 players attempt to outlive one another by using their items and companions to survive each doomsday event. Different doomsday events have different stat requirements which can be met by different combinations of resources that are acquired throughout the game. My primary job was card art, in which I did all of the disasters and companions, as well as the card back and front. I also oversaw some playtests, worked on balancing the game based on feedback, and came up with ideas for the cards. We wanted to go for a somewhat cartoonish and simple style for the cards to go with the absurd nature of some of the scenarios.
Dates: February - April, 2023
The beginning of the party where the player mingles amongst the other guests
The first murder has occurred
Gathering evidence from dialogue
Accusing a party-goer as being the murderer
This game was created in a team of five for my Game Development and Algorithm Problem Solving II class. I came up with the premise, did the *character and icon art, the menu system, implemented the music and sound effects, and worked on various other parts of the code. We developed this game over the course of a semester. For many of us, it was our first extended application of programming a game.
*I created the outfits for each character, but the base animated sprites were found on OpenGameArt by MoikMellah to save time.
Dates: January - April 2022
The first organic model I ever created
Knife I modeled for melee combat
Showcase of the enemies in game and environment
The goal at the end of the game with the dog that I modeled
I did not work on the code for this game, however, I was appointed the "Art Director" for the project, creating many of the key assets. Environmental assets, other than the canyon walls, were not created by me. My team and I, with no prior experience with Maya or C#, created this game in a week over Zoom. Considering the constraints that were placed on us, I think that we were able to do something quite impressive.
