Each adult chicken will drink about one pint of water or more per day (more during especially hot days). We currently have 3 chickens in the coop, so it's crucial that both water dispensers should be topped off each shift. A half full dispenser is not sufficient. 

If the water containers look moldy or green, you will need to scrub them. The inside and outside get like this quickly when it is extra hot. 

Here are the detailed steps on how to change the water in the hanging water dispenser:

1. Prepare for Filling

   • Carefully unscrew the top reservoir from the base. 

   • Turn the top reservoir upside down. You can place it on a table or the ground, making sure the bottom is accessible. 

2. Fill the Reservoir

   • Use the water hose to put fresh, clean water into the opening of the upside-down reservoir. 

   • Fill the reservoir to the top. 

3. Secure and Return to Coop

   • Once full, immediately and securely screw the base back onto the waterer's top. 

   • Quickly flip the waterer right-side up. 

   • Hook the waterer back on the chain when you are done.

Cada gallina adulta bebe aproximadamente medio litro de agua o más al día (más en días especialmente calurosos). Actualmente tenemos 3 gallinas en el gallinero, por lo que es crucial llenar ambos bebederos en cada turno. Un bebedero medio lleno no es suficiente.

Si los bebederos se ven mohosos o verdes, deberá restregarlos. El interior y el exterior se ennegrecen rápidamente con el calor intenso.

1. Preparación para el llenado

   • Desenrosque con cuidado el depósito superior de la base.

   • Invierta el depósito superior. Puede colocarlo sobre una mesa o en el suelo, asegurándose de que la parte inferior sea accesible.

2. Llene el depósito

   • Use la manguera para verter agua fresca y limpia en la abertura del depósito invertido.

   • Llene el depósito hasta el borde.

3. Asegúrelo y devuélvalo al gallinero

   • Una vez lleno, vuelva a enroscar la base del bebedero de inmediato y de forma segura. 

   • Voltee rápidamente el bebedero y colóquelo boca arriba.

   • Cuando haya terminado, vuelva a engancharlo en la cadena.
