Private Lessons

All Liberty band students are encouraged to enroll in private lessons.  Students who take private lessons will spend time once a week, one-on-one with a professional on their instrument.  Each private lesson teacher has interviewed and auditioned with the Liberty and Berkner Band directors, and is amongst the finest performers and teachers in our area.  They are also have been approved by the RISD to teach on our campus and undergone a district background check. 

Much of the success of the Liberty Band can be attributed to the private lesson program, because students who take private lessons progress far faster and further than they would on their own. As students excel as individuals on their instruments, the sky becomes the limit for what they can do together in a band.  

Reasons to take private lessons

    1. A desire to learn more about the instrument

    2. A desire to move faster than in the classroom

    3. A desire to learn more music 

    4. A desire to be taught one-one-one by a professional musician
