Dr. Marco Samperio is the Director of Bands at Liberty JH in Richardson ISD. He teaches the Symphonic Band, three beginner band classes and co-teaches the Intermediate and Jazz Band. Before teaching at Liberty, Dr. Samperio was an Associate Band Director and the Director of Jazz at Richardson ISD's L.V. Berkner High School for five years.
Dr. Samperio received his Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Sam Houston State University (SHSU), Master of Music in Trombone Performance from Southern Methodist University, and Doctorate of Musical Arts in Trombone Performance from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
While at Berkner High School, Dr. Samperio directed Symphonic Band III, taught two beginner classes at the elementary campuses, Jazz 1, and oversaw the jazz program. Under the direction of Dr. Samperio, the Symphonic Band III consistently received superior ratings at UIL contest. Additionally, under the direction of Dr. Samperio, Jazz 1 consistently received superior ratings at the University of Texas at Arlington, SHSU, and the Wylie East Jazz Festivals, and the jazz program grew into two full performing ensembles.
Dr. Samperio is an active performer in the DFW area. He performs with the New Life Symphony Orchestra , and subs with the Texins Jazz Band and Mesquite Symphony Orchestra. Dr. Samperio resides in Rowlett with his wife Lydia and their four pups: Rogelio, Raquel, Rocko, and Remy.

Aissa Torres is the Associate Band Director at Liberty Junior High School. She teaches the Concert Band, three beginner band classes, and co-teaches Intermidate and Jazz Band. As a Richardson native, Ms. Torres is excited to be returning to RISD and serve the community she first fell in love with music.
Ms. Torres received her Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Texas Tech University in 2021, and has recently received her Masters degree in Saxophone Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) in 2024.
During her time at UWM, she performed in the M.150 Saxophone Quartet, which was invited to perform in the 2024 U.S. Navy Band International Saxophone Symposium. As a soloist, Ms. Torres has performed at the 2024 Biannual North American Saxophone Alliance Conference, and was named the winner of the 2023 Woodwind Young Artist solo competition by the Music Teachers National Association in Wisconsin.
During her time at Texas Tech, she performed with the Wind Ensemble at the 2019 Midwest Conference and 2018 College Band Directors National Association Conference. She also performed in the The Goin' Band from Raiderland Marching Band, Court Jesters Basketball Band, Caelus Saxophone Quartet, and Celtic Ensemble.
Ms. Torres additionally holds professional affiliations with the Texas Music Educators Association and North American Saxophone Alliance.

Brice Freeman is beginning his 6th year as the Percussion Director at L.V. Berkner High School in Richardson ISD where his responsibilities include coordinating all cluster percussion activities, instructing the drumline, teaching middle school percussion classes, conducting percussion ensembles, and coordinating full cluster percussion concerts.
Brice Freeman has been pursuing a passion for percussion for over a decade and following a career in music education for the past two years. Mr. Freeman’s performance experience includes four summers marching in various drum corps in Drum Corps International. This includes Forte Drum and Bugle Corps in 2012, the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps in 2013, and the Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps from 2014-2015, winning the Fred Sanford Award for High Percussion in 2014. In addition, Mr. Freeman was a member of the University of North Texas' Green Brigade Marching Band, as well as the UNT Drumline A-Line and percussion ensemble, traveling to Poland in 2014 for the International Drum Festival held in Opole.
Whilst at North Texas Brice participated in multiple snare ensembles, winning first place in the Percussive Arts Society's college small ensemble competition in 2015. While at UNT Brice had the privilege of working with some of the world's finest percussion educators, including Paul Rennick, Mark Ford, and Christopher Deane.
Mr. Freeman graduated from UNT in the spring of 2017 with a degree in music education. From 2017 until 2019 Mr. Freeman worked as a private lesson teacher and marching band technician both in the DFW and Austin areas. Currently, Mr. Freeman works as a percussion educator for the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps, and he is very eager and excited to start working with the Berkner High School cluster as Percussion Director.
