Regular attendance is one of the keys to high school success! Students who attend school consistently are more likely to stay on track academically, earn credits, and graduate on time. Even missing just a few days each month can quickly add up and affect grades and progress toward graduation 🎓.
If you miss school, make sure your absence note is turned in as soon as possible.
Parents/Guardians: Please send the absence note from the email address listed in Focus to Libby.Moore@risd.org. Include the student’s name, ID number, grade level, and periods missed. Attendance notes can also be uploaded into Focus.Â
Students: You may also bring your absence note to Libby Moore at the Attendance Window in the AP Suites.Â
Child’s illness or injury
Family emergency with administrator approval
Death of a family member
Doctor or dental appointments that cannot be scheduled before or after school hours
Religious holidays

Please note: If a student is absent, parents should always submit an excuse note when the student returns to school.Â
